Monday
I drive to the station, catching a few minutes of Radio 4. I use the 25 minutes on the train to review my emails and tasks from last week and set my reminders for the week.
I generally Boris Bike into the office and arrive for 8am. I review the numbers from last week and look at the pipeline and feel optimistic.
The week starts with a meeting with the senior team. I work on the "less is more" principle, and try and get them to focus on fewer and more important projects.
I meet Nigel Clarkson, the newly promoted MD of Weve, for lunch. We celebrate his promotion and talk about mobile, the OMC, data, social and his upcoming wedding. We both leave with follow up notes and I get a little more scared of the upcoming stag trip.
Back at the office I have my weekly meeting with Chris Forrester. I recently appointed him as MD of the business and we are working to separate our duties to make us more efficient. I will probably regress to doing things I like. It is going to be hard.
I leave the office for a drinks reception at Downing Street. The PM wanted to thank the business leaders that had "stuck their heads above the parapet".
I felt honoured and humbled to find myself listening to the PM and Chancellor while sipping wine in the garden. I get a quick selfie outside No 10, which I post on Facebook. I chuckle to myself as I watch the various comments on the feed on my way home.
As Game of Thrones is on TV, I have no chance of getting hold of the remote control tonight, so I head to bed to read.
Tuesday
My first meeting is with our head of HR. We are on a wellbeing drive at Primesight and everyone has signed up to complete six challenges. Kathryn wants to know if I have booked my singing lessons (one of my challenges) and I manage to avoid answering the question.
Mungo Knott and I have a meeting with Adstream and Chris Marjarom from Rapport, we are looking to trial their system to improve delivery of digital copy. It all makes perfect sense and we agree to keep pushing ahead with the project.
After a sandwich lunch, I meet Kathryn Jacob, the CEO of Pearl & Dean, for a coffee. We are both involved in Nabs and I congratulate her and the committee for organising a super party.
We market 6-sheets and digital screen in their cinema foyers and are both excited about a Q4 with Bond and Star Wars.
It is almost 6pm and my younger son Rowan is in town, attending a careers seminar at the Lighthouse Company.
He is suitably grumpy and I drop him off and head to the gym. I return to pick up at 8:30pm and he actually thanks me for forcing him to attend. Claudine Collins did a session on interviewing and he proudly showed me his notes.
Wednesday
I wake up early for a quick bike ride. I stop to photograph a couple of billboards we have acquired on TfL land in Amersham and post them on WhatsApp.
I drive into London and meet up with Rob Rosenthal from Posterscope and we have a healthy discussion on the future direction of the OOH industry. We are in the middle of Business Planning and it is good to get his thoughts.
Lunch is with Colin Bundock from Kinetic. We talk about digital development and billboards. Colin is a big fan of billboards and we talk through our new 96-sheet Power and Power Plus packs.
I get a text from my wife reminding me that we have dinner with the boys to celebrate the older son finishing his A-levels.
The A40 is busy and I flick between Heart, Magic and Smooth, marvelling at all the great billboards on the way home.
Thursday
I head to the Outdoor Media Centre. Alan Brydon (CEO) and Mark Craze (chairman) are the new dynamic duo at the OMC. I was chairman for the OMC for 18 months and oversaw a period of substantial change.
Alan is on full tilt and he shares his plans for the upcoming months. I am really happy with the progress.
I call Gill Reid at MediaCom to talk through the recent Lucozade campaign. We synced the adverts on the digital billboards with the radio commercials. I promise to send her all the press stories that the campaign has generated.
I meet up with my PA Zoe Hawker who gives me all my papers for Cannes Lions. She has managed to cram my diary for the three days.
Chris Forrester is having a meeting at Talon and I join the end of it so I can see their new offices. James Copley gives me the tour, it is a great space and the vibe in the office is excellent.
It is the monthly office drinks today. The accounts team is hosting a race night with a difference - ferret racing. I bid heavy on Mad Millie in lane two and she comes in. Half of the tote goes to charity and we raise over £400 on the night.
Friday
I travel to Manchester. We are adding a number of digital 48-sheets in the Northwest and I want to look at the locations. We tour Manchester and Liverpool and the sites look fantastic.
Lunch is with the CEO of Boohoo, Mahmud Kamani. His business is on a super growth trajectory and his passion and energy is amazing. His energy is infectious and I leave his office wanting to do better.
Finally, I meet Karen Comaish who runs all the billposting and maintenance for Primesight in the Northwest and Yorkshire. The focus is all around quality and Karen runs me through her initiatives. I head back to London...it has been a busy week.
