Monday
First day back after a company trip to Amsterdam. Meet with my co-founder Declan Reddington at 8am, swap intel on the trip and realise neither of us is ever privy to the gossip. We have a handover meeting before Declan leaves for our San Francisco office.
A directors' meeting is followed by one-to-ones with my management team – still no goss. Gym at lunch and then a particularly healthy meal – I'm doing veggie Mondays, thought I'd give it a go.
I check Twitter on the iPad for news and thesun.mobi for a bit of gossip for the upcoming Euros, combined with some lead sourcing.
In the afternoon, I sit down with Anthony Prior, our lead designer who takes me through a new HTML5 initiative we're piloting with Sony Music. I then catch up with Alexia, our PA, to schedule in some trips to Edinburgh and San Francisco.
Veggie Monday fails dismally when I tuck into steak tartare in Clapham with Clement Boutignon, one of Fetch's up-and-coming superstar account managers and our cultural ambassador.
Tuesday
This morning's 8am catch-up is with Mark-Anthony Baker, our head of strategy. We discuss some new technology we're investigating to improve dynamic ad placement. It's an exciting development and I'm confident it will really help conversion on display campaigns.
In the afternoon, I put my US hat on. I'm interviewing for a senior position within our San Francisco office, and work myself through several conference calls.
Later on, I trial a neat iPad app called Air Display by Avatron, which allows me to use my iPad as a second screen to my desktop. Works nicely through Bluetooth and worth the £4.99. Duel screening on the go – whatever next?
Tuesday evening is a dinner event at Chelsea's Manicomio following the Open Mobile Summit, hosted by Urban Airship. These guys have a great piece of technology, which allows apps to send push notifications to their users based on location, user profile, circumstance, etc. Ultra relevant and good retention tool. I'm only drinking orange juices though – I have a pitch first thing tomorrow.
Wednesday
It's breakfast at my desk as I prepare for the pitch with an interesting mobile games company. This is the second round and the first time with their CEO. It goes well, there's good chemistry and I'm feeling optimistic.
There's an office sweepstake for the Euros. I pull Portugal. Declan is away, so I put in for him too – he gets Spain. I consider swapping…he'll never know.
Off to Hotels.com's new office in Angel for a global catch-up with their mobile team. Our US team dials in and we discuss innovation. We cover Latam, North America, EMEA and APAC, so it's a lengthy meeting, but productive. I buy the beers afterwards.
Back to Borough for a 9.30pm phone catch-up with Declan. We swap notes, discuss our weeks and make a few decisions. I catch up with some news on the iPad, and check in with friends via Facebook. My friend Sanjit Atwal keeps us updated with developments of his company @squawka_sports, which I think is awesome. He's looking for people to road-test his football companion app this weekend – I consider volunteering my services.
Thursday
My iPhone is bursting with emails at 7am – mostly from the US. I skim through to try and find any major wins or concerns – nothing untoward. I'm always in the office by 8am and this morning I read through the week's trade press.
We have a big campaign going live today for William Hill ahead of its first big Euros push. I catch up with Guillaume Lelait who is our group account director and looks after William Hill. The launch is looking good and the client is happy.
Catch up with Lee Blyth, head of sales at Inmobi. I've known Lee since his Microsoft days. I'm updated on new, rich-media opportunities and we chat about trading and market movements.
A late interview and a US conference call to finish the day and I'm home by 9pm. A well-deserved glass of wine, and a couple of hours in front of the telly with the iPad. The laptop doesn't get a look-in at home any more. When tablets are more widely affordable, I expect them to replace the casual sessions on laptops and PCs at home.
Friday
Straight to Soho House for a 9.30am meeting with Oli Roxburgh, CEO of Mobile-5. We swap notes on the industry and brainstorm ways we could work together. It's then into a taxi to take a 10.30am conference call for some strategy work we are doing for a new client. Phone keeps cutting me off the conference call and we chuckle at the irony.
Friday lunch is usually an internal football match for those that can make it. We have drafted in some of the women this week, but we still can't put two teams together. Still feeling guilt from this week's veggie Monday, so I opt for a healthy salad at my desk – wish it was a burger and a pint – what's happened to me? I have a finance meeting in the afternoon and I find some time to work on the "to do" list. I suddenly realise I have no plans for the long weekend – bliss.
