Bump.agency is part of IOM – the Identification of Music, a Facebook group for sharing the latest music, which is now a 150,000-strong media community and agency that employs 11 people and focuses on music, fashion and technology. Founder Robbie Murch signed up to the government’s Kickstart scheme, which aims to get 18- to 24-year-olds at risk of long-term unemployment into work, to find the right staff.
The company has grown significantly in the past year without any external finance and has worked with clients including Kanye West and Atlantic Records. With a young team on board, Murch has recognised the importance of learning from more experienced peers; his team joined the UK government's Help To Grow scheme, a 13-week MBA training course, with private mentoring and peer group sessions with other UK business owners.
Murch’s ambitions in the next 12 months include revolutionising the youth insight industry by pioneering what he terms “community-centric” marketing. Judges said Murch had a “great entrepreneurial spirit” and described him as an “industry disruptor” with an “impressive start-up story”.
