MEDIA: Tesco prepares to install in-store TV in 100 outlets

Tesco has confirmed it is rolling out its in-store TV network across its 100 biggest stores following extensive trials in eight stores nationwide.

The move, which was first tipped by Marketing last month (Marketing, February 12), will give advertisers a unique platform to reach millions of consumers. JC Decaux will handle third-party advertising for the TV screens.

The screens will be located in seven zones: Power aisle (central aisle from which other aisles are accessed); Grocery; Health and Beauty; Beers, Wines and Spirits; Home Entertainment; Counters; and Cafes.

The screens will show only content directly related to products in the zone. This will include health and beauty tips, recipe ideas and information on healthy living.
