TalkSPORT won the live commentary rights to 32 Saturday afternoon football games from the start of the upcoming 2008/09 season until 2010/11, in an auction run by the Premier League. It will also air games from the Champions League, Carling Cup Final and Football League play-offs. The brands will advertise during breaks across all the competitions.

Earlier this year, TalkSPORT signed BBC Radio 5 Live football pundit Stan Collymore. The former England and Liverpool striker presents a nightly show and will be a match summariser on the station's Barclays Premier League and Champions League football coverage.
TalkSPORT also launched a TV campaign to promote its Saturday afternoon football coverage this year. The ad promoted the station's Barclays Premier League commentary, as part of a test campaign, before a wider roll-out in the early part of this year.
