MEDIA: Sci-Fi channel to back UK science fiction film festival

Cable and Sky digital channel Sci-Fi is to sponsor the UK's first

science fiction film festival, Sci-Fi-London, to be held at the Curzon

Soho & ICA from February 1 to 3.

The deal was brokered in-house by Sci-Fi's parent company Universal

Studios Networks. It includes branding at the main festival venues,

around 50 on-screen trailers, print ads, flyers and festival programmes

as well as complimentary tickets and exclusive filming rights at the

event.

Sci-Fi will promote Sci-Fi-London on-air with a 60-second ad from

December 15. Both the ad and cinema trailers have been produced in-house

by USN.

Sci-Fi-London is still seeking more sponsors for the festival, which is

expected to attract 10,000 visitors.
