Media: Q Radio to boost partnership ties

Bauer Radio plans to introduce a fresh commercial partnership scheme on its digital station Q Radio when it relaunches next month.

The initiative will replace traditional spot ads with exclusive commercial partnerships, intended to give advertisers the opportunity to create deeper brand-led relationships.

A similar programme is already being run by sister station Heat Radio. Q Radio will relaunch on 2 June with a fresh schedule and presenter line-up.

The station, which is currently available via Freeview, will be rolled out nationally across satellite, cable and online platforms. The relaunch follows the relaunch of Heat Radio by previous owner Emap Radio last September.

Ric Blaxhill, the former head of programmes for BBC Radio 6 Music, was hired in February to help prepare Q Radio for relaunch.
