The companies have already formed a marketing partnership that will see Nuts sponsor late-night quiz show Pub Ammo on Five. The programme, to be hosted by Xfm DJ Christian O' Connell, bears the same name as a weekly column in Nuts.
The show debuts in April, scheduled to coincide with pub closing times.
Five will carry sponsorship credits for Nuts, while the magazine will carry ads for the TV show.
IPC Ignite marketing director Niall McKinney said talks are taking place over further options for the Nuts brand.
The talks follow the stri-king of a similar partnership between IPC Ignite and MTV in 2002, which encompassed joint marketing initiatives and masthead programming for brands such as Loaded and NME.
Nuts and Zoo Weekly both launched in January and both are aiming for a settle-down circulation of 150,000.
In an interview with Marketing, McKinney claimed that Nuts is significantly outperforming Zoo, but refused to give figures (Marketing, February 19).
