New teenage lads’ magazine Front launches next month in a bid to

capture a slice of the lucrative men’s magazine sector.

The title will be produced by Cabal Communications, the publishing

venture set up by former IPC editor Sally O’Sullivan in July, and will

be edited by Piers Hernu, an ex-features editor of Loaded.

The title aims to be an FHM for a slightly younger market and will

target 16- to 24-year-old men, with the average reader’s age expected to

be 18.

The first issue will contain about 170 pages. It will have an initial

print run of 400,000 and Cabal is hoping for a settledown circulation

figure of 250,000.

Front will be supported by an advertising campaign and the launch issue

will have a promotional cover price.

Cabal is also planning a home-interest title, The Real Homes Magazine,

to be launched in October.
