MEDIA: McDonald's hires Egmont to create 'Ronald' comics

McDonald's has appointed Egmont Magazines to produce a series of children's comics, each with a two million distribution in its restaurants.

The 16-page A5 Ronald McDonald comics will carry a cover price of 50p, but will be given free to purchasers of Happy Meals. The comics will change every couple of months.

The deal is the first time McDonald's UK has worked with a children's magazine specialist. Egmont Magazines produces a range of consumer titles, including Barbie and Thomas the Tank Engine.
