InStyle, the AOL-Time Warner-owned monthly magazine which launched
in March, has been brought under the jurisdiction of IPC Southbank, the
women's glossies division of IPC Media.
InStyle's publisher Katy Egan and editor Dee Nolan will report to IPC
Southbank managing director Tim Brooks, rather than directly to Time Inc
International's chief executive, Michael Pepe.
Time Inc's other UK magazines, lifestyle bi-monthly Wallpaper and
bi-annual style title Spruce, have been brought into IPC Ignite, the
division that houses music and men's titles. The publishers and editors
will report to Mike Soutar, managing director of IPC Ignite.
The integration of the three titles into the IPC stable comes less than
a month after IPC Media axed six magazines - four within Southbank - and
115 jobs. A further 118 redundancies have just been announced.
The reorganisation was prompted by AOL Time Warner's £1.15bn
acquisition of IPC Group in January.
Brooks said there would be no job losses as a result of the integration.
Regarding InStyle, he said: "It's a case of no change, and continuing
change. InStyle is coming up to a year old, it has hit its targets and
as with any new title, is constantly developing."
