Media choice: Reality TV Now

So IPC has launched another Now spin-off in the form of Reality TV Now.

The title, which will be on sale for just six weeks, is the first magazine to be dedicated purely to reality TV stars and includes coverage on the usual suspects - Big Brother, Celebrity Love Island and The X Factor. But why?

The celebrity weeklies have delivered weekly updates and exclusive interviews with reality TV star evictees and their families for years. In fact, the tabloids and the weeklies have been saturated with reality content this summer. You can't help but notice the front covers adorned with 'exclusives' of Grace, Nikki and Sophie Anderton. The coverage in the celebrity weeklies, coupled with the reality stars' stints on TV chat shows, is surely enough to satisfy the reality-hungry public - it is certainly enough to satisfy me.

Despite its positioning as a unique offering, it hasn't quite capitalised on an untapped market; in fact, it is very likely to regurgitate what we have already read, heard, watched and talked about before. Publisher - IPC Connect.
