I have always found people who festooned their body with tattoos or expressed themselves by writing graffiti on the nearest bus shelter to be a unique breed. If this form of marketing can be used to promote a brand and at the same time put an end to student debt, I'm all for it.
It does beg the question, however, of what would be the ultimate brand for this medium?
Head & Shoulders, perhaps, or student favourite Rizla? Could this also be a mechanic to enable tobacco companies to skirt around the laws against ads?
Will we soon start to see a section in brand guidelines about picking the right student face to represent the brand? Allowing for wear and tear, can the student also ensure their hair remains short and face clean? And can they ensure total coverage across a variety of locations?
Perhaps brand owners would be well-advised to observe where their brand message would be communicated most. The student common room - lots of room for potential there.
