Media Choice: Afternoon Tea with Suggs

This month saw the launch of Suggs' Virgin Radio show Afternoon Tea with Suggs. Following the Madness frontman's successful weekend Party Classics slot, the national station has propelled the original 'nutty boy' into a daily two-hour afternoon show from 2pm-4pm as part of its fresh daytime line-up for 2007.

The show comprises an eclectic mix of pop and rock, interspersed with interactive features such as 'Great British Workplace of the Day' - a workplace's choice of three songs - as well as station-wide promotions.

The man himself maintains the irreverent, chatty style that has made him a national treasure, veering from musings on everyday life to listener interaction and, on occasion, singing over his own tracks. With the ability to guarantee a good time, somehow even the most mundane chat can stir a smile with Suggs at the helm.

This show is Suggs at his best and he is clearly at home on the radio. As he continues to keep his listeners on their toes with his play list as well as his personality, Virgin Radio's belief in him should certainly prove successful.
