And the award goes to...
Well, recovered from the hangovers my darlings? Bitch has only just got back on her stilettos following a raucous night at The Grosvenor, with 1,300 of the best (and most party-hard) of you.
She was more than a little taken by little Jack Whitehall (only 23-years-old, but with a mouth like a docker) as he controlled you naughty bunch with a series of put downs, including telling one of the louder agencies in the room that they had "won nothing" so "might as well go home."
Poor Jack got a bit of an upset stomach before he faced the baying crowd, so made use of one of the cubicles to have a tactical stress relieving "yawn".
Of course the big winners on the night were PHD, who won Media Agency of the Year AND the Grand Prix, which were collected by the chief executive Daren Rubins who obviously had no clue he was going to take the gongs, otherwise he would have had a shave (honestly petal, you think you'd be able to afford a razor on your salary). Global Radio also swept the board.
Well, several "leaky glasses" led to the bar being absolutely packed well into the night and many a high-ranking media figure was seen throwing shapes on the dancefloor.
Bitch was also encouraged to see that winning the Rising Star Award (Agency) seems to agree with Manning Gottlieb OMD’s Mark Halliday, who was immediately surrounded by girls when the awards concluded, Bitch is told that it was, however, all above board.
Also, if the person who left the handcuffs in one of the toilet cubicles would like to collect them, Bitch is sure the staff at The Grosvenor would appreciate a call.
X Rated Factor
News comes to Bitch from Media Week's sister magazine Event that it passed up one of this year's 'X Factor' contestants way back in 2009. Entering the magazine's Next Big Thing talent award with her now infamous Britney Spears impersonation (replete with American accent) 'X Factor' hopeful Kitty Brucknell failed to make it to the final of the competition.
However, Bitch hears that Kitty tried her hardest to reach the heady heights, offering to take her top off for the judges if they awarded her the gong.
Bitch hopes that she doesn’t try the same tactics with her mentor Louis Walsh, but does wonder how Louis would react.
Barter banter
Bitch would like to congratulate Manning Gottlieb OMD for getting hold of the "key to the door" this week, as it celebrated its 21st birthday as a media agency this week with a bash at Delfina in London Bridge. The guest list read like a who's who of Manning Gottlieb OMD staffers past and present.
Along with the founders of the agency Colin Gottlieb (now CEO of Omnicom Media Group (OMG) for Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and Nick Manning, chief operating officer of Ebiquity, Bitch spotted in the crowd OMD's Steve Williams and Neil Hurman, DraftFCB's Phil Nunn, Goodstuff's Andrew Stephens and PHD's Daren Rubins.
Of course, the man of the hour was the affable Robert Ffitch, himself a 21-year veteran, who told the crowd how he had convinced Gottlieb to take him on during a car ride to a client meeting. Expecting to be congratulated by his other boss on his new appointment, Manning stayed quiet the rest of the journey, not making reference to it at all.
Bitch thinks you couldn't find a shrewder MD though, after thanking the venue for turning around the party so quickly, he then thanked the barter company for the drinks.
Until next week, my little frugal types.
