House Beautiful's result followed a 24.4% gain in the previous period, representing a commendable turnaround in fortunes since the title relaunched in October 2003. It now trails IPC's paid-for market leader, Ideal Home, which fell by 5.1%, by just 45,000 copies.
House Beautiful's success is buoyed by extensive subscription marketing, with subscriptions accounting for 30% of its 215,360 sales.
NatMags had another good result with Country Living, up 6.1% to 185,136, with 38% of sales coming from subscriptions. IPC's Country Homes and Interiors fell 13% to 81,985 copies.
IPC suffered declines across its entire homes portfolio; Homes & Gardens was down 8.1% and 25 Beautiful Homes down 12.8%. Wallpaper, re-classified in this period from a men's magazine to a homes title, managed a flat ABC but was boosted by a big increase in free copies.
BBC Magazines' 22.2% gain for BBC Good Homes was countered by a 14.8% drop for BBC Homes & Antiques. Hachette's Elle Decoration was up 6.8%.
Highbury Lifestyle's The Real Homes Magazine was the biggest faller, crashing 44.8%.
