McLaren ties with UK Sport to assist London 2012 Olympics medal push

LONDON - McLaren Applied Technologies has signed a deal with UK Sport, English Institute of Sport and sportscotland Institute of Sport as well as GB medal winning teams to supply Formula 1 style technology to coaches and athletes.

McLaren will work alongside the UK high performance system to provide instrumentation, telemetry, modelling, simulation and technical advice to a range of sports including cycling, canoeing, rowing and sailing.

 

Atheletes in these sports will now benefit to technical support used by Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team.

 

Great Britain took home 47 medals from the 2008 Beijing Games and 102 from the Paralympics.
