Staff at the fast-food chain will wear the uniforms, which one source has likened to looking like "brownie outfits", as they serve fast-food at the biggest McDonald’s in the world at the Olympic village.

After the Olympics, the new designs will be rolled out across all McDonald's UK 1,200 restaurants.

McDonald's is expected to host an event to showcase the new uniforms next week.

McDonald’s is claiming it is the first company to produce "closed loop" recycled uniforms. They are being made by Hemmingway’s company Worn Again.

The uniforms will be collected in store, reprocessed into raw materials and then made into new uniforms.
