Scott joined McDonald's UK in 2002 from McDonald's Australia, where he worked for more than five years as senior brand and strategy manager.
He has been responsible for family marketing, national campaigns, new technology and brand strategy, including implementing the recent Justin Timberlake advertising campaign.
A McDonald's spokeswoman confirmed that Scott would leave in July. His replacement will be made in due course.
Scott reports to McDonald's UK chief marketing officer John Hawkes, who returned to the UK last September to oversee strategy after a two-year secondment.
Matthew Howe, who was Scott's boss in the role of UK marketing director, took the new position of senior vice-president, head of planning and strategic development, to oversee the company's revival strategy last year (Marketing, September 25 2003).
