The less 'flashy' Farrelly brother Bobby makes his directing debut for a UK ad in McDonald's revival of its 'Great tastes of America' campaign.
There are four 30-second spots focusing on a different burger in the range, each showing someone from New York, Mississippi, South Carolina and Kansas City talking about flavours from their region. Each character holds an invisible burger while letting the audience know they can only get it in the UK, not in the US. All the ads end with the strapline: "Sorry, America."
The work was shot in Atlanta by Farrelly through HunkyDory, the production shop he joined last year. The Farrelly brothers are known for There’s Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber, while Bobby has directed ads in the US for brands including Samsung and Jeep.
