McDonald's carries on airport theme in McFlurry campaign

Leo Burnett continues the Poundsaver airport theme in a new TV ad for McDonald's McFlurry.

The first spot, which breaks this week, promotes the return of the Cadbury's Creme Egg variety for a limited period.

The campaign uses the same creative vehicle as the recent Poundsaver commercial, but this time shows the havoc that the McFlurry flavours cause in the restaurant "airport".

In "turbulence", we see a customer ordering one of the ice-creams. As the stewardess mixes in the Creme Egg, everything begins to shake, causing customers to wobble and drop things, including their trousers.

The pilot explains that this is just a little turbulence caused by the "flurrying" of the McFlurry. The endline reads: "I'm lovin' it."

The spots were written and art directed by Trevor Webb and Ed Morris and directed by Kjetil at Outlaw Films.

Media planning and buying is through OMD UK.

"Turbulence" will run on satellite and terrestrial stations until 4 April.

The programme schedule includes Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and other major soaps.

The ads will be supported by a six-sheet poster campaign, which breaks later this month.
