McCann-Erickson wins $60m GM corporate account

McCann-Erickson has been appointed as General Motor鈥檚 agency of record for its corporate advertising and marketing business. The account is understood to be worth as much as $60m.

LONDON (Brand Republic) 鈥 McCann-Erickson has been appointed as General Motor鈥檚 agency of record for its corporate advertising and marketing business. The account is understood to be worth as much as $60m.

The business was previously handled by long-time GM agency NW Ayer out of its New York and Detroit offices. McCann-Erickson, Detroit, is the agency of record for GM''s Buick Division.

John Middlebrook, GM鈥檚 vice-president and general manager for vehicle brand marketing and corporate advertising, said, 鈥淢cCann has continued to deliver a high level of work for GM鈥檚 cross-divisional retail advertising, so it was a logical choice to meld the work into one total GM account.鈥
