McCann-Erickson steals Lepere from CDP for senior post

Ben Langdon, the McCann-Erickson chief executive, has raided his

former agency, CDP, to poach its second-in-command, Marc Lepere, as his

joint deputy chairman.

Lepere, 37, is expected to quit the deputy chairmanship of CDP within

the next six weeks to work alongside Langdon and Jerry Green, the other

deputy chairman, in a management triumvirate.

Lepere’s move fills a gap created as a result of a worldwide management

reshuffle earlier this year, when David Warden, the London chairman,

added the area directorship of Eastern Europe to his responsibilities

(±±¾©Èü³µpk10, 23 January).

It also renews the working relationship between Lepere and Langdon,

CDP’s former chief executive, who appointed him as joint assistant

managing director of CDP in 1994.

Langdon said Lepere would share the agency’s managerial workload while

dealing with strategic planning at executive board level.
