The agency has been selected by the Wyvern Theatre to design and build a new reception area, coffee bar and box office to increase opportunities for visitors to spend more money within the merchandising and eatery areas.
Liverpool Anglican Cathedral chose Mather & Co after a four-way pitch to design a new exhibition and walk-through experience as part of a major investment at the church, which includes a new shop, restaurant, coffee bar and disabled access facilities.
The new visitor experience will entail an "immersive" theatre show and audio guide of the Cathedral.
Chris Mather, managing director of Mather & Co, said: "This is an exciting time for us. More and more venues are looking for a bespoke approach, which will create more appealing, and ultimately more profitable, design in response to their creative briefs.
"Our company philosophy of coming to all projects with an open mind, and tailoring a unique solution in cooperation with the client, seems to be striking a chord."
The win follows the agency's recent appointment to work with Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum earlier this year.
