Match.com to expand dating service through MSN

LONDON - Match.com, the internet dating website, is to extend its existing global partnership with MSN, which first began in 2000.

Match.com's partnership with MSN already includes the MSN Dating and Personals , and will now include Windows Live services, MSN Search, MSN Messenger, MSN Spaces, and the MSN.com homepage.

The MSN Dating and Personals service will continue to provide MSN users with full access to the full list of Match.com's online services.

Jim Safka, chief executive officer at Match.com, said: "Match.com and MSN have shared a goal of helping people connect with each other. We all want to find the right person to share our life with, no matter where we live or what language we speak.

"Our long-term alliance with MSN is incredibly important to our business and, more importantly, to the people that trust us to help them in their search."

Match.com, which has more than 15m members in 30 countries worldwide, said MSN's ability to attract more than 30m visitors in 30 key MSN markets each month, meant that extending the agreement between the two companies would improve its overall market reach.

John Nicol, general manager at MSN.com, said: "Online personals has developed into one of the top consumer activities on the internet, leading the content spend for the last three years in the US and fast accelerating in every global market."

In the UK, Match has more than 1.5m members and is ranked the country's number one internet dating site according to results by Nielsen//NetRatings.
