MTV will run a competition prior to the awards for one viewer to win a VIP trip to The Brits. The competition will be supported by credits on MTV shows. MasterCard credits will also appear on MTV's coverage of the event, backstage show and winners weekend.
Further ticket competitions will run on GMTV's 'Entertainment Today'. This will be supported by a strand on the programme called 'Priceless moments at the Brit Awards with MasterCard'.
The Daily Telegraph will run a series of "priceless" music holiday competitions and this will be supported by pre-promotions in the preceding weekend papers as well as on Telegraph.co.uk.
The Evening Standard will also run full newspaper wraps on the day of the awards and a ticket competition will appear in Metro Life. Now magazine will run a full-page competition.
The activity will be supported by a regional media tour of 15 MasterCard branded Minis, which will be used for guerilla marketing during the run-up to the awards on February 17.
All activity kicks off today. MasterCard's media is through Universal McCann, with advertising through McCann-Erickson.
The 2004 awards, which MasterCard is sponsoring for the sixth year, take place at Earls Court and will be broadcast "as live" on ITV1.
Last night's nominations included jazz artist Amy Winehouse, who has two nominations including Best Female Artist: Beyonce and Kylie, who are up for Best International Female Artist; and Justin Timberlake, who is up against rock act The White Stripes for Best International Album. The Darkness have four nominations including in the new Best British Rock category.
