Corbin has been at the hotel company for 14 years, and in his current role since January 2013.
As CDDO, he will lead efforts to make Mars’ e-commerce and digital business an "integrated and seamless experience" for consumers, and manage relationships with global digital commerce partners.
He will report to chief customer and marketing officer Andrew Clarke.
At the same time, Sandeep Dadlani will become chief digital officer, taking over from chief information officer Vittorio Cretella, who is retiring after 26 years with the company.
Both Corbin and Dadlani will start on 1 September. A spokesman said the hires were a reflection of the business "accelerating its focus on digital innovation and growth".
Dadlani joins from systems integration business Infosys, where he was president and head of Americas at the company, as well as global head of manufacturing, retail, consumer packaged goods and logistic practices.
Reporting to chief financial officer Claus Aagaard and Angela Mangiapane, president of Mars Global Services, Dadlani will work with Mars’ global business segments to drive its digital transformation agenda.
Mars chief executive and president, Grant F Reid, said: "Digital is changing the way our consumers and customers experience our products and services.
"New expectations, competition, distribution channels and opportunities present themselves every day. As we use digital capability to transform our business, we’re delighted that Sandeep Dadlani and George Corbin will bring their depth of expertise in this area."
