The combined forces of Darren Huckerby (9), Jimmy Hasselbaink (6)
and Matthew Le Tissier (8) gave Stuart Barker, creative director at
Scott Edgar Group, a three-point win this week. Only two of Stuart’s
players failed to score, and this big result has taken Stuart into the
overall top 50.
Boots’ Brendan McElroy (583) now looks as certain to win the overall
Football Crazy Championship as Arsenal are of winning the
Premiership.
The ten-point lead has increased to 13 over nearest rival Martin Drewe
of Pitman Publishing.
Still in with a shout are Clinton Orchard of Chivers Hartley (563
points) and Mark Golledge from Team Marketing Communications (549
points), among others.
On to the battle for third place in the Premiership and the match
between Chelsea and Liverpool. While Chelsea have arguably had as good a
season as any, Liverpool have once again failed spectacularly to take
anyone by storm. England will be hoping that Ince, McManaman and
Redknapp will be able to lift their game if selected for the World
Cup.
The 4-1 win for Chelsea brings rewards for both our Player and Loon of
the Week. Steve Clarke scored his first Chelsea goal for six years and
had a solid game, while Anfield supremo Roy Evans must be disappointed
not to have put up more of a fight and must now be looking over his
shoulder at a queue of replacements.
Due to the Bank Holiday next week we will be having our final rollover
of the season, which means the next results published will be the
last.
See next week’s Marketing for details of the final prizes and the
following week’s (May 14) for the final results.
Our competition to win a replica England World Cup shirt is still
available on the Football Crazy pages of the Marketing Web site at
www.marketing.haynet.com.
To find your overall position or make transfers call 0891 400 220. Calls
cost 50p per minute and profits go to NABS. The hotline will close on
May 3.
