Camden, New Jersey to form a business that is now a symbol for America

the company, which started out producing canned tomatoes, vegetables,
jellies, soups, condiments and minced meats. The brand owes its life to
a chemist, Dr John Dorrance, who joined the company in 1897 and invented
a low-cost manufacturing method which eliminated water. The technology
made Brand X famous in the US and, in 1933, it came to Britain -
