Marketing services agency 141 and its sister agency CCG.XM (formerly Bates Interactive) won the pounds 4m National Canine Defence League (NCDL) account last week, and Mix can reveal the identity of the lady rumoured to have clinched the deal. She's small, extremely cute and notoriously charming.
Her name is Daisyminime.com, she's a Pug dog and the prize pet of Belinda Mitchell-Innes, strategic planning director at CCG.XM.
Daisy is a familiar figure around the agency as she comes into work with Belinda every day. When the agency was called in for a meeting with NCDL to meet with the deciding team, Daisy accompanied them. On arrival at the NCDL offices Daisy bumped into the chairman's dog and promptly proceeded to flirt with him outrageously. She also attended the presentation, but fell asleep at the table.
Apparently Daisy is a big winner with all clients. Belinda says: 'I think Daisy was built to be an account manager. She's very good at client meetings.' And she's just as popular with the male staff who take turns walking her around the block, as she has proved herself to be a little babe magnet.
So it would seem the British people's obsession with their pets is not just an eccentric trait - it also makes good business sense.
