The Chartered Institute of Marketing survey said that the level of confidence stands at 98.3%, the third-highest level recorded to date. This confidence is backed with an expected growth in marketing spend of 5.8%.
This increase comes on the back of expected sales growth of over 9% for the coming year.
Douglas McWilliams, economic adviser to the Chartered Institute of Marketing and chief executive of the Centre for Economics and Business Research, said: "The recovery in marketing spend is critical for the health of the economy as a whole.
"Investment in marketing lubricates the economy and makes it more flexible, as well as creating the opportunities for long-term growth through the development. The latest survey results are therefore especially encouraging as a sign that the UK economy is returning to rude good health," he said.
The Marketing Trends Survey showed that all sectors of the economy are expecting growth, with vehicles, heavy manufacturing and the electrical and electronics sectors forecasting the largest sales increases.
The survey is based on the views of nearly 100 senior marketing professionals surveyed in April this year.
