Given has been responsible for all Sainsbury’s advertising – including last year’s ‘Christmas in a day’ campaign and this year’s ‘Christmas is for sharing’ activity, led by a brand film based on a World War I ‘truce’ football match in ‘no man’s land’. His decade at Procter & Gamble working across Europe on brands such as Crest, Pringles and "even Tampax" taught Given his trade, while during four years at Heineken he persuaded Steve Coogan to resurrect Alan Partridge for Foster’s online series Mid Morning Matters. Given himself made his comedy debut recently, doing stand-up at a North London pub, where he "got a few laughs".
