LONDON - Manchester City will run a marketing campaign ahead of this weekend's clash with Arsenal FC featuring newly acquired striker Emmanuel Adebayor who joined from the London club this summer.

Manchester City, who also purchased Arsenal defender Kolo Toure, will run the ads featuring the Togo forward across posters, billboards, other strategic outdoor sites around the city and t-shirts ahead of the match.

The clubs play this weekend on 12 September.

Earlier this season, Manchester City taunted fans of Manchester United following the signing of Argentina forward Carlos Tevez, who joined the club from United where he was on loan. The club created a billboard featuring the player with the words 'Welcome to Manchester'.

United fans responded by mocking up the ad online, replacing the line with 'Welcome to the end of your career'.
