Malcolm Hunter set to be strategy chief for Vizeum network

Vizeum, Aegis Media's nascent second-string global network, has appointed Malcolm Hunter as its chief strategy officer.

Hunter joins from the brand consultancy Red Spider, where he worked on clients including Diageo, Unilever, Cadbury and HSBC.

Before Red Spider, he spent 12 years in a variety of senior strategic planning roles in the UK and overseas. Hunter is a former global head of strategic planning at Ammirati Puris Lintas and then at Lowe Lintas, where he worked on global positioning and campaign development for Unilever and HSBC.

"Malcolm's appointment to this new role is consistent with our strategy of broadening Vizeum's offer by bringing in outside talent and fresh perspectives. It also reinforces our commitment to putting the connection between brands and consumers at the heart of communication planning," Martyn Rattle, the chief operating officer of Vizeum, said.

Hunter added: "Successful communication and media strategy is not really about media, it's about people."

Vizeum launched in June and now has 21 offices in 16 markets. Trista Grant is the principal at Vizeum UK, formerly known as BBJ.
