The making of an ad: behind CoppaFeel's 'Trust your touch' campaign

CoppaFeel!, Fold7 and Riff Raff Films discuss the the ad that calls upon men and women to check their breasts.

The charity's TV ad shows men and women checking their breasts with a humorous voiceover explaining how important it is to "trust your touch". Images of breast shaped juggling balls and doughnuts are cut between shots of people looking for signs of breast cancer.

CoppaFeel's chief executive Natalie Kelly explained how the campaign is very important for the charity as they are aiming to "reach every young person with our message" to normalise the action of checking your breasts.

Lucy Aston, a creative at Fold7, discussed how the campaign is for everyone, however it specifically targets a younger, female audience to encourage them to "form life habits".

The film was directed by Ivana Bobic through Riff Raff Films. Bobic said "finding a message that's clever and witty" allowed them to appeal to a broad audience.

CoppaFeel! has a team of "boobettes" that tour the country and give presentations on how to check your breasts. Fold7, Digital Cinema Media and 8Outdoor were given a talk from Alice-May Purkiss, a boobette and trustee of the charity. Purkiss agreed that humour was the best way to approach the campiagn.
