- Mike Ironside, managing director of the Mail On Sunday, has been appointed to the council of the Advertising Standards Authority.
Ironside, 47, succeeds Len Sanderson, managing director of sales at the Telegraph group, who is stepping down after six years.
The ASA council is made up of 12 members who decide whether or not ads break the UK codes of advertising and sales promotion.
Ironside was previously sales director of the Daily Mail and has worked for a number of agencies including FCB, TBWA and Chetwynd Haddons.
