Now magazine goes online to lure readers

IPC Media's celebrity title Now magazine has launched a web site - its first online venture - as it aims to get readers to interact further with the brand.

Readers can log on to the site (www.nowmagazine.co.uk) and post questions to their favourite celebrities for reader interview slots. When the celebrity appears in the magazine, the most probing questions will be published, with 拢25 awarded to the reader with the best question.

Future celebrities include Vinnie Jones and Friends star Matt Le Blanc.

The writers of The Simpsons are set to answer questions on behalf of Homer Simpson for a Now Christmas edition. Pop star Gareth Gates, The Royle Family's Ralf Little and Sex and the City's John Corbett have all appeared so far.

Jane Ennis, editor of Now, said: "Readers ask the celebrities inquisitive questions that journalists wouldn't dare ask. The site serves as a further method of getting readers to connect with the brand."

Andrew Kirkland, publishing director of Now, added: "We are looking for more ways for our readers to interact with the brand, which could involve partnership and sponsorship opportunities for the site."
