London venue Madame Tussauds has hired multicultural marketing agency Mediareach for a Diwali campaign.

Over the Diwali weekend, from 16-17 October, Mediareach will attempt to make the venue a magnet for those celebrating the festival by having a Diwali theme.

Since 2004 Madame Tussauds has introduced four wax figures of Bollywood mega-superstars Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

"Diwali is a time of the year when spending on food, drink, gifts and leisure is substantially heightened among British Indians," said Mediareach CEO Saad Saraf.

"Hosting Diwali at Madame Tussauds is a fantastic way of driving more footfall to the attraction and giving people a further reason to visit."
