M&C Saatchi shop wins brief for Hand Picked Hotels

LONDON - Hand Picked Hotels, the company that runs hotels in unusual English and Welsh locations, has hired M&C Saatchi agency LIDA to build its website after a six-way pitch.

Hand Picked is part of Arcadian and owns 16 hotels in England and Wales, all based in historic buildings or unusual, remote locations with a rich history. It is planning a major refurbishment and rebranding programme over the next two years, as it seeks to expand from mainly conference and wedding customers to the weekend traveller market.

LIDA, which handles digital and direct marketing activity for M&C Saatchi, has been briefed with creating a website that will showcase and cross-promote the hotels. It will also build an online reservations facility, create a membership programme and a hotel locator tool.

Judith Speller, sales and marketing director of Arcadian, said: "LIDA quickly understood the kind of customer we want to attract and how we want them to feel about the new offering. Its clear grasp of the brand was the vital ingredient in convincing us that they were the ones to bring it alive online. This, together with their proven creative flair and technical expertise made them an irresistible choice."

LIDA has also picked up the brief to redesign and build the website for Rubicon, the business-to-business insurance provider.
