Fink, who has worked at agencies such as CDP, WCRS and Saatchi & Saatchi in a career spanning more than two decades, starts his new job today and will immediately begin work on the crucial British Airways brief.
As the creative director, he will take over from the M&C Saatchi partner Jeremy Sinclair, who has been running the creative department since Matt Eastwood departed in February 2004.
Fink, 45, will be familiar with the M&C Saatchi set-up, having worked with most of the agency's existing management line-up during his stint at Saatchis in the 80s. While at Saatchis, Fink helped to create the famous "face" commercial for British Airways.
After leaving GGT in 1995, Fink moved to The Paul Weiland Film Company, directing ads and music videos. In 2001, he set up the production company thefinktank.
Thefinktank boasts a roster of four ad directors and will continue to operate, with Fink himself retaining the title of company director. He also intends to continue directing some ads himself.
Fink, who claims to have been offered several head creative roles over the past few years, told ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 he took M&C Saatchi's offer because of his close relationship with Nick Hurrell and Moray MacLennan, the agency's European chairman and UK group chairman respectively.
He added: "This time it's different. I know and trust the people and see many exciting opportunities and potential."
Sinclair said: "We have been looking for the right person to hold the creative reins in London for about a year now. Graham, a wonderful photographer, director and creative in his own right, is the ideal choice. He knows the industry inside out."
