Lynx picks global brand director in senior shake-up

Lever Faberge has appointed Organics marketer Melanie Burns as

international brand director for its Lynx brand as part of a

senior-level shake-up.

Burns, who recently returned from maternity leave, will lead the

international brand team and run brand development for Lynx and Axe, the

European name for Lynx, worldwide.

Burns replaces Patrick Cairns, who has moved to become global brand

director for Lux, and will be based in Brazil. Cairns will work from

Lever Faberge's offices in Sao Paolo and will head global brand

development for the soap and washing detergent. Cairns has also worked

on Unilever's ice-cream and frozen foods brands.

During Cairns' tenure as international brand director for Lynx, the

company launched brand extensions including Lynx razors, shaving gel and

shampoo, along with a chain of Lynx barber shops, and began its 'Lynx

effect' ad campaign through Bartle Bogle Hegarty.
