Lowe triumphs at ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 Press Awards with Tesco creative

LONDON - Lowe's elegant executions for Tesco clinched the top honours at the ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 Press Awards last night.

The event, held at Brick Lane's Old Truman Brewery, was attended by a crowd of 500 creatives, clients and media owners, who were entertained by Al Murray, The Pub Landlord.

Tesco's "eggs" won Best Individual Ad, while the Tesco series claimed the Best Press ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 gold. It pipped last year's Best ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 winner, DDB London, which was commended for its Guardian ads. The Tesco work was art directed by Jason Lawes, written by Sam Cartmell and shot by Colin Campbell, with typography by Neil Craddock.

Ogilvy & Mather's headline-grabbing execution for Unilever's cellulite-busting Dove won Best International Press Ad. "Oversized? Outstanding?" was written by Dennis Lewis and art directed by Joerg Herzog. Bartle Bogle Hegarty won Best Multinational Press Ad for its "chair" ad for Levi's 501 anti-fit jeans.

Jury chairman, Carolyn McCall, the chief executive of Guardian Newspapers, said: "Twelve months ago, John Hegarty, my predecessor as the chairman of the judges, said that press needs to regain its confidence and swagger. What a difference a year makes. Art direction and copy were back."
