Tesco is looking to boost sales of its Tesco's Finest range of

products in the run-up to Christmas with a new campaign through Lowe

Lintas.

The 40-second execution, called "beans", is the latest installment in

the successful series of spots starring Dotty, played by Prunella

Scales.

The ad opens with Kate, played by Jane Horrocks, and her husband, played

by John Gordon Sinclair, on a Christmas evening outside Dotty's

house.

The pair, once invited inside, prepare themselves for an evening of fine

food and fine wine, if slightly less than fine company. Dotty boasts

about all the entertaining she's been doing for her friends and

neighbours, with the help of Tesco's Finest range.

However, to their disappointment, Dotty reveals that after all the

luxury food she's been eating she's decided that they should all have

something simple - baked beans on toast. The husband is so distraught

that he falls face first into his meal. The ad ends with the familiar

strapline: "Every little helps."

The ad breaks on national TV on 10 November. It was written and art

directed by Derek Apps and Tom Notman and directed and produced by David

Garfath and Fran Ratciffe from The Paul Weiland Film Company.
