Lowe, Gorgeous and BBH take top prizes at 2002 BTAA night

LONDON - Lowe's "doctor" for Stella Artois, directed by Ivan Zacharias through Stink, picked up the best TV commercial of the year accolade at the British Television Advertising Awards last night.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty was voted the Most Successful Advertising Agency, while Gorgeous Enterprises won the Most Successful Production Company award. BBH's Levi's work won two golds.

Vince Squibb, the writer and art director on "doctor", also art directed Lowe's Reebok "sofa" ad, which won a gold award. It was written by Tony Barry and directed by Gorgeous' Frank Budgen.

Mother picked up two golds for its Super Noodles "face off", which was directed by Harry Nash's Fredrik Bond. However, the agency's "butt-naked boy" Dr Pepper ad was disqualified for using a US production company.

McCann-Erickson Manchester won gold for Durex "square", directed by Daniel Kleinman through Spectre.

Ogilvy picked up a gold for its Child Protection TV work, directed by Gillian Wearing.
