LONDON (Brand Republic) – Lottery rivals Camelot and the People’s Lottery are due to find out from the game’s regulator today whether their revised bids have been accepted.
New Lottery Commission chairman Lord Burns is due to tell Camelot’s management and Sir Richard Branson’s People’s Lottery team whether they will compete for the competition head to head.
Lord Burns replaced Dame Helena Shovelton as chairman of the Commission last month, after Camelot won a legal battle to remain in the running for the next seven-year licence.
He is hoping to restore confidence in a process badly damaged by the failure of the original bids and the High Court ruling that the Commission acted unfairly.
