LONDON - The Communications Minister, Lord Carter, is among a number of media figures being suggested as possible contenders to replace Michael Grade as ITV's chief executive.
Tony Ball, the former chief executive of BSkyB, and Michael Jackson, the former chief executive of Channel 4, have also been named by newspaper reports as potential candidates.
Two internal candidates are John Cresswell, ITV's chief operating officer, and its commercial chief, Rupert Howell.
The broadcaster is expecting to have a new chief executive in place by the end of the year. Grade will remain in his role until then.
