The London Paper Headliners festival will take place on 16 and 17 September and will see more than 50 acts perform in West End music venues such as 100 Club, Heaven, Borderline, ULU and The Fly.
The event will operate on a single wristband system, allowing revellers to move between venues, and will include one-off flash gigs to take the public by surprise.
"Central London is ripe for this event," said Mean Fiddler promoter Jon Mclldowie. "Despite the closure of a legendary venue like the Astoria, The London Paper Headliners celebrates the true vibrancy of and demand for live music in London, and where better to do this than in the very heart of the city?"
The first bands will be announced next month, when tickets go on sale.
