London 2012 bid eyes high street

London 2012 is trying to boost public support for its bid for the capital to host the Olympic Games by seeking high-street brand partners. It has hired promotional and direct agency Gasoline to secure deals with major multiples ahead of the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) evaluation visit in February.

The bid team expects to announce its first partner before the end of the year.

Both retailers and brand manufacturers will be targeted to sign up to the scheme, which will build support via customer promotions.

Retailers will be able to adapt the activity to fit their requirements; the initiative will not be restricted to London stores.

The public can pledge support online or by text. All creative work will drive consumers to the website.
