The overall share of viewing across its 7.30pm-10pm duration was 19.8% and it hit its peak of 5.8m viewers in the second half, once competition from BBC One's 'Holby City' at 8pm-9pm was out of the way.
'Holby City' brought in 5.8m giving the channel a 24.2% share.
BBC One's repeat showing of 'New Tricks' earned the second-highest ratings in the 9pm-10pm slot with an audience of 4.6m and a share of 19.4%.
Channel 4 managed a strong showing 2.4m with a documentary special, 'Prince Charles' Other Mistress', with another 244,000 catching on Channel 4+1.
The programme, which claimed Australian socialite Dale Tryon was an intimate friend of the prince in the 1970s, took a 9.9% share of viewing for Channel 4.
There were 2.1m takers (8.6%) for 'CSI: Miami' on Five, which is tonight screening a special on last week's Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross phone affair.
BBC Two brought up the rear at 9pm-10pm with 1.1m viewers for the last in its 'British Style Genius' series, which gave it a 4.6% share.
