Tomorrow is D-Day for Live 8, with concerts in London, Philadelphia, Toronto, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, Moscow, Cornwall and Johannesburg, as well as one in Edinburgh next Wednesday.
Organisers, including Bob Geldof, are billing the event as 100 artists in 10 concerts, with a global television audience of 5.5bn.
In the UK it will be broadcast by the BBC, while ABC is screening the event in the US. Live 8 is being staged in a call to the world's richest and most powerful nations to cancel third world debt and make poverty history.
Nokia was first global sponsor of the events and helped fund the concert costs, while in the UK, O2 ran the record breaking text lottery for tickets.
Internet provider AOL has also signed up as a global sponsor and is webcasting the concerts, while London's Capital Radio is the official radio partner for the Hyde Park gig. In the UK and US, global sponsor Volvo is to transport artists to and from the concert venues as part of its involvment.
The ethical water brand One has been named as the official water of the event in Hyde Park, which is expected to attract an audience of 200,000
The concerts, starring Madonna, REM, Coldplay and U2, coincide with the G8 leaders' meeting in Edinburgh next week.
